Heavitree Gap Outback Lodge is situated on the southern entrance to Alice Springs, snuggled into the base of the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges.


This is the best scenic location in Alice Springs. It lies between the Airport and town centre, being a 15 minute drive from the Airport and only a 5 minute drive into the town centre. Heavitree Gap offers guests a free shuttle service in and out of the town centre.

Heavitree Gap Outback Lodge offers newly renovated Lodge style accommodation, Kitchenette Family Rooms along with powered caravan and camping sites under shady gum trees.

Accommodation is well supported by the Heavitree Gap Tavern where you can enjoy a bistro style meal whilst enjoying local entertainment such as a reptile show and local balladeers! (Entertainment every night April-September)

There is a supermarket on site and the unforgettable Olde Alice Bar and Function centre is available for hire.

Every evening Wild Black Footed Rock Wallabies can be fed at the Lodge - an absolute must - this unique activity is popular with guests of all ages.

Olde Alice Bar and Function Centre

An outback style bar and entertainment area where you can savour the ambiance of Central Australia in a very different way. Step back in time and enjoy 'A Town like Alice' as it was in the 1930's, experiencing true outback hospitality.

The Olde Alice Bar and Function Centre is open daily 7am –9.30am for breakfast.

The Heavitree Gap Tavern is also a great place for you to relax. There is entertainment in the Tavern 7 nights a week (April- September)

It features TAB/Sky channel, giant screen television, pool tables, gaming machines and beer garden incorporating The Ghan Bar and Grill which is open:-

Dinner: 6pm - 9pm Monday to Saturday
Sunday: 3 course carvery served between 6pm and 9pm

The Tavern is open: 10am - 12pm daily

Airport Transfers
The Alice Springs Airport Shuttle service operates transfers to and from Alice Springs hotels.
Transfers from the airport to Alice Springs city can be booked and paid for on arrival. Just look for the Alice Springs Airport bus. If booking from the hotel, please speak to one of our staff members on reception an they will be happy to organise the transfer for you.


Downtown Transfers
Aurora Resorts & Hotels also operates a free return downtown shuttle bus service from the Lodge, 4 times a day on week days and twice a day on weekends.
