Australian Pacifc Touring - The Alice - and Uluru
Spend 4 days exploring the sights of the Red Centre starting in Alice Springs with a town tour before travelling to the vast desertscape of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (Olgas).

Arrive in Alice Springs by midday and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a town tour including a visit to the Old Telegraph Station. See the generally dry Todd River running through the town. Take in the panoramic views over the township and of the MacDonnell Ranges from atop Anzac Hill. Stop in at the School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctor Service Base. Visit Mbantua, an Aboriginal cultural centre, and gain an insight into the history of the local Aboriginal people.

Visit the Camel Farm before enjoying views of Atila (Mt Conner). Arrive at Ayers Rock Resort. Later visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and the Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative. Take a guided walk to the sacred waterhole and ancient hunting ground of Mutitjulu. Then tour the base of Uluru on the Mala Walk. Learn of the local geology and flora. Visit sacred Kantju Gorge and see many of the geographic features linked to Anangu mythology. Relax and enjoy a complimentary sunset drinks. Travel into the vast desert landscape of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a region that has been inhabited for the last 22,000 years by the Anangu people. From a vantage point, relax with a cup of tea or coffee as the sun's first rays strike Uluru. Journey to Kata Tjuta and take a guided walk deep into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Marvel at the sheer walls that flank you as you enter the gorge. Learn of the domes formation and of the wildlife of the region before heading to Alice Springs.
Day 4. Alice Springs at LeisureFree time in The Alice before a transfer to the airport or railway station.
