Itinerary

Day 1 Fri: Arrive Ayers Rock
On arrival you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Resort. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink and nibbles with your Tour Director and fellow travellers as you watch sunset at Uluru.
Camp: Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights. D

Day 2 Sat: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
This morning you may wish to view sunrise at Uluru. Enjoy a guided base walk, visit the Mutitjulu Waterhole and stop at the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. This afternoon visit Kata Tjuta and walk into Walpa Gorge and explore the unusual conglomerate rock formations. BD

Day 3 Sun: Kings Canyon
Travel to Kings Canyon today. For the energetic, a guided climb to the canyon rim will be rewarded with spectacular views of Watarrka National Park. Alternatively, you may prefer to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk. This afternoon continue to Kings Canyon Resort.

Day 4 Mon: Alice Springs
Today journey to the West MacDonnell Ranges to visit Simpsons Gap and Angkerle (Standley Chasm). On arrival in Alice Springs enjoy an orientation tour.

Day 5 Tue: Alice Springs
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Alice Springs. An optional 4WD Safari to Palm Valley may be available. Perhaps join the Red Centre Dreaming Dinner and Show, an evening of entertainment by traditional and contemporary Aboriginal artists, including a three-course dinner in a bushland setting. Ask your Tour Director for details. B

Day 6 Wed: Tennant Creek
We depart Alice Springs and cross the Tropic of Capricorn. Explore mysterious Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles), precariously balanced boulders that have been worn smooth by the harsh elements of nature over many thousands of years, before arriving in Tennant Creek.

Day 7 Thu: Katherine
Travel across vast outback stations.
See the John Flynn Memorial at Three Ways then visit the historic Daly Waters Hotel. Continue on to Katherine.
Camp: Nitmiluk National Park. BLD

Day 8 Fri: Kakadu National Park
We join our local guide on an early morning cruise through Katherine Gorge, with a chance to see freshwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the riverbanks and many species of birds. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to view informative displays and exhibits depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people of the region. This afternoon travel deep into Kakadu National Park.

Day 9 Sat: Kakadu? - Darwin
Enjoy a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. Visit Jabiru, the Bowali Visitor Centre then travel to Ubirr and climb to the top of this rocky outcrop for rewarding views. (During the wet season when Ubirr is inaccessible, you will visit Nourlangie Rock). There is time for an optional scenic flight over Kakadu National Park. Later, continue to tropical Darwin, with a brief orientation tour on arrival.

Day 10 Sun: Depart Darwin
Your tour concludes this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Darwin Airport to connect with your onward flight. B
