Day 1 Wed: Arrive Broome On
arrival in Broome you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a
welcome drink with your Tour Director. Accommodation: Cable
Beach Club Resort, Broome, 2 nights.
Day 2 Thu: Broome
at leisure Today is at leisure to explore this tropical
hideaway. Directly opposite the hotel is Cable Beach, 22km of white
sand and clear tropical water. (B)
Day 3 Fri: Fitzroy
Crossing Travel to the port of Derby, situated on the edge
of King Sound. Visit the famous Boab Prison Tree, used by the first
police as an overnight holding cell. Travel through some of Australia's
biggest pastoral properties, to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing.

Day 4 Sat: Geikie
Gorge This morning cruise through Geikie Gorge, formed by
the waters of the Fitzroy River, tunnelling through the Napier Range.
Watch for wildlife as the 30 metre high walls of the gorge tower
above us. Travel to Halls Creek, situated on the edge of the Great
Sandy Desert.

Day 5 Sun: Lirrgarn Argyle
Diamond Mine
Journey north of Halls Creek and enter the
Argyle mining lease. A local guide will join us and conduct a tour
of the Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine, the world's largest diamond mine. This afternoon
travel to El Questro Wilderness Park. Accommodation: Emma
Gorge Resort, 2 nights, stay in unique tented cabins with private
facilities, power and linen provided. (BL)
Day 6 Mon:
El Questro
This morning cruise through Chamberlain Gorge,
a fresh waterhole abounded by tropical vegetation. At Emma Gorge
Resort there is time to relax and sit by the pool or to hike into
Emma Gorge for a refreshing swim in the waterhole. (B)
Day 7 Tue: Wyndham This
morning travel along the Gibb River Road to Parry Lagoon Nature
Reserve. Your Aboriginal hosts will welcome you to the region in
a traditional ceremony. Continue to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout
for sensational views over the Cambridge Gulf. Visit Warriu Park
to see the Dreamtime Statues and rock art mural. Accommodation:
Country Club Hotel, Kununurra, 2 nights. (B)
Day 8 Wed: Kununurra
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Kununurra. See the Ord
River Irrigation Scheme and Hidden Valley National Park. (B)
Day 9 Thu: Katherine
Visit the historic Durack Homestead. Cross
vast cattle stations en route to Katherine. Accommodation:
Paraway Motel, Katherine. (B)
Day 10 Fri:
Katherine Gorge Cruise the placid waters of the Katherine
River through the towering cliffs of two gorges. Look out for freshwater
crocodiles. This afternoon travel through to the tropical city of
Darwin for an orientation tour. Accommodation: Darwin Central
Hotel, Darwin, 2 nights. (B)

Day 11 Sat:
Darwin at leisure Enjoy a day at leisure in Darwin. (B)
Day
12 Sun: Kakadu National Park Join your local AAT Kings Driver/Guide
this morning. Travel into Kakadu National Park. View ancient Aboriginal
art at Nourlangie Rock. At Cooinda join a wildlife cruise on Yellow
Water Billabong. Later, visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural
Centre. Accommodation: Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, Jabiru. (BL)
Day 13 Mon:
Kakadu – Darwin Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the spectacular
East Alligator River. Next stop is Ubirr, to view rock art. Visit
the Bowali Visitor Centre. Return to Darwin. Accommodation: Darwin
Central Hotel, Darwin. (BL)
Day 14 Tue:
Depart Darwin You will be transferred to Darwin Airport
to connect with your onward flight. (B)
